Burt's Bees
I have been wondering about Burt's Bees products for quite sometime. Unfortunately, I can't just look at the label and figure out if it has animal byproducts. The following is listed on the FAQ section of their website:
"Burt's Bees does NOT conduct product or ingredient tests of any kind on animals. A few of our products contain ingredients derived from animals such as beeswax, royal jelly, milk and carmine."
After further research, I noticed that Burt's Bees also uses Lanolin in their products. If you are looking for a completely vegan product, you must check for the following:
Beeswax
Royal Jelly
Milk
Carmine
Lanolin
I asked Burt's Bees to email me a list of completely vegan products, I am still waiting on a response.

Neutrogena Body Oil

Neutrogena Body Oil is a light sesame formula that can be used as a moisturizer right after the shower.
I used this like CRAZY when I was pregnant! It really helped, especially since it was winter and my skin was extremely dry. It works best when you are right out of the shower, but towel dried, since it locks in moisture. It's also a great massage oil.
Another tip: if you moisturize right after the shower, and use a perfume before you put your clothes on, the scent will last much longer. This is because perfume adheres to the oil on your body :)
I have the fragrance free oil, but it also comes in Original scent. I don't know what that smells like.

E.L.F. Shielding Hydro-Tint SPF 15

E.L.F Shielding Hydro-Tint SPF 15 is a tinted moisturizer which also has an anti-aging formula (never too young to start!)
I bought Tone 3, and I used it according to the directions. I don't think a pearl size amount is enough coverage for the face and neck, but then again, I always use way too much of everything!
It's a nice product for everyday running around. I always need a moisturizer, and I like a little bit of sheer coverage. I wouldn't use it as a base for heavier makeup or dressy occasions.
It also has the scent of Sugar Orange.

Biore

Biore products are only made with plant or synthetic products. WOO HOO! I love a good nose strip!!
But, in all seriousness, the scrubs are really great. They are gritty enough to strip your skin of dirt and pollutants, but they are gentle enough to use everyday. I personally need to use a scrub as opposed to a facial wash, but from the experience I've had with the facial cleansers, they are pretty good too. I personally like the Detoxify Daily Scrub. It seems to make my skin look fresh. And, of course, I love the Deep Cleansing Pore Strips. But, I have yet to meet a woman who doesn't!
I have been looking for a new moisturizer for my face, particularly one that has an SPF. I see that Biore has a number of moisturizers available, so I will definitely be trying one out!

By the way, Biore's website is wonderful! They have each product they offer, along with exactly what it does, what other products it would work well with, and the INGREDIENT LIST! That is what every company needs to do in order to keep consumers informed!

Lancome
I emailed L'Oreal about Lancome products specifically, and they wrote the following:
Cosmetic products may contain ingredients derived from animal sources such as lanolin and honey. Our products do not contain ingredients derived from bovine (beef) or porcine (pork) sources; we may use ingredients derived from fish.
This means that you still have to read the label, (Lanolin is derived from the glands of sheep). But you can rest assured that there are no other animal derived ingredients under different names.
I think Lancome products are okay, but I feel like they are targeted for a more mature demographic.

Jergens Naturals
I was emailed by the Kao Corporation, which owns Jergens. They assured me that the Jergens Naturals line is completely free of ANY animal by-products. They offer the following:
Jergen's Naturals HYDRATE Daily Moisturizer
Jergen's Naturals RENEW Daily Moisturizer
Jergen's Naturals REFRESH Daily Moisturizer
Jergen's Naturals SOOTHE Daily Moisturizer
I am so happy to see a national brand use natural products. I'm honestly getting sick of reading labels to make sure there are no animal by-products.
I needed a new lotion to replace the old *haraam* lotion. I guess Jergens is the way to go!
