St. Ives Energizing Citrus Body Wash

I bought this, knowing full well that it is animal free! It smells great, and it's definitely something you would want to use in the A.M. It doesn't smell orange-y or lemon-y (sorry my terms are not more scientific). It smells like a mix of grapefruit, orange, lemon and lime. Very subtle, and it does the job.

Nothing to rant or rave about though. It works and smells nice.

Softsoap

The following Softsoap products are animal derivative free:

Softsoap Brand Foam Works Liquid Hand Soap
Softsoap Brand Fruit Essentials Liquid Hand Soap
Softsoap Brand Clear Antibacterial Liquid Hand Soap (Aquarium and Rainforest)
Softsoap Brand Morning Mist Antibacterial Liquid Hand Soap
Softsoap Brand Vanilla Brown Sugar Antibacterial Liquid Hand Soap
Softsoap Brand Lavender and Chamomile Liquid Hand Soap

These handsoaps are great! I like Softsoap products, they make your skin soft. (I guess that's a redundant comment.)

*Just for the record, a majority of ALL bar soaps have animal byproducts in them. The only one that I come across that is okay is the Tom's of Maine.

Tom's of Maine Review

I finally bought the Tom's of Maine toothpaste and soap. I'm not quite sure how I feel about the toothpaste (Spearmint). It seems to be working fine, and it has a nice flavor, like chewing a fresh piece of spearmint gum.

I love the soap! I bought the Lavender soap. It REALLY softens my hands, and has a beautiful smell. I am trying to convince my husband to use it, but it might smell a little girly to him, lol. It is a vegetable glycerin based soap, so it has a transparency to it.

Be on the lookout for good deals for Tom's of Maine stuff, because it can run very pricey in major grocery and drugstores. See if it's available in a local drugstore or fruit store, it might just be a little cheaper.

Tom's of Maine

From the Tom's of Maine website :

Halal is an Arabic word meaning lawful or permitted. Since 2006, all Tom’s of Maine products have carried the Halal endorsement, which certifies that they are made in accordance with Islamic guidelines under the supervision of the Islamic Food and Nutrition Council of America (IFANCA).

Finally! A company that understands the importance of the Halal symbol!

Tom's of Maine makes toothpaste, deodorant, mouthwash, floss and soap.

I personally haven't tried any of their products yet, but I do see them readily available in my neighborhood. I'm going to definitely give them a try. Does anyone have any experience with their products? What do you think?
