E.L.F. UPDATE!

Just an update on E.L.F Cosmetics. I'm pretty happy with the response they gave via email, the important parts are in BOLD:

We currently support PETA and are partners with PETA in the Caring Consumer Project. Please see our philosophy page for further explanation on our company.All of our brushes in our e.l.f. line are made from natural horse hair and genuine wood handles. Our brushes in our studio line are made of anti bacterial, synthetic haired Taklon and may be used with either wet or dry products.We do not disclose our ingredients via email. You can find all e.l.f. ingredients indicated on the packaging of our products as well as on our website. All ingredients used in e.l.f. cosmetics are safe and meet F.D.A requirements. Although some of the other ingredient names in our products used to be derived from animals, they are now derived from synthetic ingredients, however, the names have remained the same. Paraben is used as a preservative in some of our products, although our mineral line is paraben free. Please feel free to contact us with any other questions or concerns.

So, basically the makeup is still ok, WOO HOO! I'm so happy. Unfortunately, the regular brushes are made with horse hair. Thank goodness I didn't order those. The studio line is a little more expensive, around $3. But still a really great bargain!

Every now and then, you have to contact the companies again, because ingredients change constantly. I'm happy to know that E.L.F. is still a company I can trust.

I just discoverd E.L.F cosmetics. WOW!!!! They are free of animal derivatives, they don't test on animals, and they are SUPER affordable. (They have a liquid eyeliner for $1!!!!)

I normally wouldn't just try any cosmetics, but these cosmetics have been highly reviewed, and they are used by actual makeup artists. They have A LOT of different products and options, and they seem like they would work well on a woman of colour.

I was watching an Indian makeup artist on youtube, and she used these cosmetics. The colour showed on her skin, which is something that is very important to me when choosing cosmetics. I need rich and vibrant colours. I have had many bad experiences where I buy an eyeshadow, only to see that it doesn't work on my skin tone.

E.L.F also has makeup tools, such as brushes and eyelash curlers. They also have bath sets, mineral makeup, makeup bags, clutches, and professional sets for makeup artists. I am so overwhelmed with choices right now, I don't know where to start! I am trying to figure out what to order right now!!!!

I have seen them available in Rite Aid as well. The brushes have bamboo handles, and they come in a earth-friendly pouch.

They are by far, the BEST makeup brushes I have ever owned. They are so soft, and they apply makeup really well. The concealer brush is my favorite. It blends the concealer much better than a sponge applicator or your fingertips. I never even used a concealer brush before this set, and now I can't imagine ever being without one!

The ecoTools brushes are made with synthetic fibers. No worries about animal hair here!!
